Freeze Dance & Musical Chairs — YouTube Pauser
Random YouTube pauses for musical chairs, freeze dance, and kids' brain breaks. No DJ needed.
The story
I built this for a small problem: running freeze dance and musical chairs without one person stuck on the pause button. The browser tab is already open with the music; the extension just adds a random pause loop, an audible countdown, and an ad-aware skip. Nothing leaves your device — no analytics, no telemetry, no account.
How it works
- Install the extension and open YouTube.
- A small overlay appears in the top-left. Set your min/max pause interval and pick single round or loop mode.
- Press start. The extension pauses the video at a random time within your range, beeps 3-2-1, then resumes (or waits, in loop mode).
- Ads are detected automatically and muted; the countdown resumes after.
Local storage only, no servers involved.

Who it's for
Run freeze dance and musical chairs in class without a DJ. Use any YouTube playlist as the soundtrack.
Indoor brain breaks for energetic kids. Set 30–60 second rounds and let it run hands-free.
Skip the manual pause button. Hands-free musical chairs for birthday parties and game nights.
